2009: Movies I want to see

Here's a list of the movies I want to see in the new year in order of watchability <- made a new word:
(1) New Moon (Twilight II): This is almost expected, I really can't wait, and I really don't want them to mess it all up... there's still a lot of the casting to be done and with the rumor mill in full throttle --> I'm scared

(2) Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince: This was always my favorite book series to read until twilight and I'm still a sucker for these movies, plus the trailer is really, really cool

(3) Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: AWESOME!!! I loved the first one and I really expect the second one to be a great movie... can't wait for the special effects

(4) Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: Two words for this movie: Syd + Scrat XD

(5) Confessions of a Shopaholic: There comes a time in one's life where a movie depicts your personal struggles and fears :)

(6) Angels and Demons: I have no idea what the plot is about but after reading and watching the Da Vinci Code, I'm curious, plus the movie poster is cool, so I will read the book previous to going to see it

(7) X-Men Origins: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine = Awesome = Hot = me going to see the movie

(8) Watchmen: The only thing I know is that is like a comic based movie with cool effects and some type of heroes with powers... and a silver dude, but because it looks like it will have a lot of special effects and some kind of similarities to x-men; I'm sold.

(9) Push: I saw the trailer when I went to see Twilight (all three times) and I have to say I'm intrigued: yes, it does look like the movie "jumper", yes, it has been done before... but hey there's a hot guy with super powers and dakota fanning playing a totally different role so why not?

(10) Night at the Museum 2: I loved the first with all the crazyness it involved, I saw the trailer and want to see it... hate me because I liked it :)

(8, 9) "Monsters and Aliens" & "Up": I love love animated movies, and I will never get too old for them :)

(10) Adventureland: This is just out of curiosity, I want to see Kristen in a different role (I have seen Into the Wild) to check if she still has the excessive blinking

Movies I will never ever ever watch in this century:
Friggin Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers in 3D: I can handle the music (to an extreme... you will be surprised that IT is in my iPod, and I'll admit it) but they are so overused, poor kids they're everywhere and I'm tired... sorry Jobros and Miley I will not give you my twelve bucks, but don't feel let down there's a million others who will be happy to pay :)

For all the designers/photographers/students/artists out there:

I just attended a 1 hour Adobe online seminar called "What’s New in Adobe Creative Suite® 4 Design Premium: Creativity Unleashed" with Designer Paul Trani and let me tell you it rocked, I was with my mouth hanging open the entire time, the new CS4 is better than ever before and the programs work together flawlessly...

When have you ever imagined being able to edit friggin MOVIES in photoshop, or create an animated SWF magazine that flips pages and has interactive items within from inDesign? I tell you is this doesn't make inDesign the number one choice for Desktop Publishing I don't know what will, Quark is in the past! with the internet taking over it would only be a matter of time before they don't even print magazines.

So many new features that I can't even imagine what they will invent next! I'm excited and for all my fellow designers the seminars are completely free, at 1 pm eastern and totally awesome, so no excuses. I'm attending all the seminars for CS4 focused on print, photography, design and web so sign up because space is limited, you will not regret it.

Updates Yay!

Facebook is my new full time job, is sad I know but hey the economy sucks no one is hiring and I have a bunch of free time so why not go to the all-mighty facebook for entertainment... I've met new ppl thanks to a certain person being in facebook, so it's been all good.

As you might have guessed I have no job but because it is a new year I enrolled in chinese and italian classes so from now on and for 4 hours each week, for six weeks, I will be doing something useful with my life (not that I have not done something useful lately, but there's so much I can clean, my room has never been this clean and/or organized)

Random: I realized last week I use smiley faces for everything and is kinda annoying me, i should use words not friggin punctuation thingys, but it is a hard habit to break.

Random 2: I found a new band through fanfiction called "chandelle" you can find a couple songs in youtube but all their music is AWESOME, the only bad part is that they are not really known (you can't even find the lyrics), but hey they are good! you can get their album though itunes or emusic.

Random 3: Disney got me hooked on pin trading, I don't think my unemployed bank account can take to much pin-buying but I can't seem to be able to stop. Damn you disney you will be the end of me, between this and stitches I'll go broke :(

Random 4: I'm reading too much, I don't know if that is bad but on the better side I have learned cool words like ponder, ogle and musty... I have also been using per se but that is from south park so it doesn't count :o)

I leave you with one of the cutest pics I have of my baby :) she looks like an "angel"... I'm so proud of her she just approved her Intermediate puppy class and if off to advanced where she will get CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and TDI (Therapy Dogs International) certificates, it will be a lot of work but hey it is after all a prestigious thing and prestigious things take hard work (I think) my other dog didn't pass but I still love him for his silly self, so he is repeating intermediate in hopes of getting to advanced with the sister :)

1. I'm a kid at heart (i.e. stitch, twilight, spongebob, etc) and a nerd (i.e. gaming, technology, macs)
2. Lately I get really emotional over everything (especially movies and tv series = Bolt made me cry -> that bad)
3. Energy drinks make me dizzy, I know they're supposed to give you hyperactivity but it does the exact opposite
4. I love to sing along to music (even if I don't know the lyrics, which is rare)
5. I'm part Taiwanese and part Venezuelan (ppl have told me I look indian)
6. A couple ppl told me I look like Vanessa Carlton (I don't see it though like the one above in the parenthesis)
7. I have only really hated one person in my life and still do
8. I love, love, love writing... anything, is something that gets my mind some peace
9. I hate stupid-nonsense questions
10. I have no people skills whatsoever (I'm normally a loner)
11. I am really, really, shy in new environments or new ppl (see above)
12. I would've loved to be a vet, but it would've broken my heart when bad things happened
13. I love reading... and hate being interrupted
14. Moving to Miami really changed my life and I would take it back if I could
15. I enjoy long walks of the mall while shopping bargains and/or sales
16. For the ppl that really know me... be glad to know that I'M OVER MY ALLERGIES!!!, one of the best days of my life has been being able to sleep through the night hugging my doggies without dying sneezing and/or crying

Twilight - The Movie, The Obsession... A Review

So, since I read the books I found myself completely obsessed, it has been something utterly dramatic... I read all the good, long fanfics that come my way, I did more than 9 hours in line to meet Taylor (Jacob) and Edi (Laurent) @ Hot Topic, I bought my movie tickets a month before, and went dressed w/a twilight t-shirt, I listen to the soundtrack a lot, I'm reading the books again, I squealed like a fifteen year old fangirl in the events, I'm obsessed with robert pattinson, I jumped up and down when they greenlighted new moon, and I want to see the movie again.

That sums it up, now for my movie review: I loved it, of course it was not perfect, but I have yet to see a film from a book that's perfect, specially one that only had a very limited budget ($37M) compared to a Harry Potter movie ($150) and even then HP movies are not perfect but just better (better effects, better music etc). The movie should have been at least 30 min more to include more scenes of the Cullens and Edward and Bella before they were a "thing"

• I loved Robert Pattinson as Edward, there were a couple scenes when I though his face was hilarious (e.g. when Bella comes in the first time in biology and when he's sucking out the venom).

• Kristen was good, besides the excessive blinking I though she was a good Bella, her chemistry with Robert was excellent, and every-time she slipped it made it more real (lol)

• The Cullens were awesome, especially Alice ( I want her to be my best friend) and Emment (I want him to be my teddy bear)

Scenes I loved:
• Kissing scene in her room: OME! it was awesome you could feel the tension and Edward's fear I almost fell off my chair
• B&E getting to school in the Volvo with the sunglasses: BEST scene overall, everyone squealed (myself included), Robert Pattinson looked HOT!
• Vampire Baseball: BEST Action scene. It sounds cool and in the movie it is the coolest scene, it was just very well done and it looked more real than the "running" through the woods
• Rosalie breaking dishes: Hell yeah (I'm not pro-Rosalie but it was awesome)
• Anything with Alice!!!
• Get in the car! - OME! Sexy Vampire tells me to get in the car to rescue me, I obey :P
• Adrenaline rush, Google it - nuff said :D
• Anything with the crooked smiled *faints*

Scenes I missed:
• Blood typing
• Edward vs. Mike
• Tyler the day of the prom = Tyler vs. Edward
• Diz iz wrooooong edward, shiz nah wun of uzzzz (I know is not typical Emment, and not in the books but I loved it on the trailers, plus I was waiting to say it with my sister during the movie)
• Bella Cooking
• Some Midnight Sun (like what Edward listens to in other ppls minds)
• Girl's Spring Dance... this was the whole reason he stopped in front of her in the parking spot and all that

Scenes I hated:
• Diner scenes: WTH Bella cooks!, although I liked the goofy guys outside, I paid more attention to that than the dialogue.
• Tyler kissing Bella and taking Mike's chair... WTF now "dis iz wrooooooong"
• Bella getting a book from the Quileultes WHAT??? this never happens she goes to the internet and that's the end of it
• Edward sleeping in a weird pose in the hospital room after the attack *meh*

I could not listen to a third of the movie because of the screaming (stupid fangirls :p) but I had a great time, I gasped, I laughed and I was surprised. I give Twilight 4.5 out of 5 and I have to go see it again.

P.S. I know this looks like it's written by a fifteen year old fangirl, but that's how this book makes me feel so get over it. I'm a 23 year old that loves Twilight and everything to do with it, and is not afraid to let it be known. =D

Twilighted

I know this is like a teen book and all that, but it captivated me from the beginning I started reading it last saturday at 5 p.m and finished the first book the first day... so I read all the books continuously (except at work, even though I was tempted) and finished them all in 3 days.

I became so obsessed with it that I could not go to sleep w/o thinking about it, it was THAT bad. When I finished the books everything felt so empty... I felt the last book left a lot of things empty and I understand the negativity about it when I read the reviews but I will not go as far as hating it.

It is an amazing story about a girl and a vampire, not your typical vampire story though, in this one they're not afraid of garlic and/or religious symbols, they're just pale white and ice cold, incredibly good looking and they *sparkle* in sunny days... how's that for your dream boy?? I feel like such a little kid after reading the books, I just can't wait for the movie and read the books again this time taking my time and allowing me to take in more from my reading.

That's that I totally recommend the books for anyone that's willing to let imagination run wild and accept that this is fiction and that sparkly Edward Cullen does not exist.

Till later... going back to reading twilight related fan fics and later I will post my thoughts about the movie, the trailer and the cast.

After a full day...

After a full day sneezing in front of the computer, dealing with flash codes and colors, I almost have the final portfolio loader ready... I only need to archive the 8 samples and after, resize and crop. I also made a couple of minor design tweaks, nothing mayor.

I'm actually happy I'm almost finished, this has been something that has been haunting me since last year, I think I only need another full day to be completely done and start sending resumes and links to prospective jobs... I also took the liberty of printing new cards with the new image :)

P.S. I'm back in Miami and looking for a F/T job

Something to look forward for the Wii

The Wii has been a wonderful investment but I find myself playing less of it every day, somehow you get tired of playing the same games again and again and it gets to a point where everything is the same, since Guitar Hero no new games have called my attention (except Brawl and Mario Kart). so today my b/f introduced me to "Star Wars Force Unleashed" and I gotta say I'm excited to play the duel mode, it looks like it can get as tiring as boxing but less repetitive... and of course I can't wait to kick his ass with a lightsaber :)...

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - So excited for this movie, i loved all the other ones and this one of course is going to be good because it features: CHINESE people, and you know they always kick ass. PLUS I love Brendan Fraser.


The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 - Liked the first one and I'm a sucker for movies like these, that involve love, friendship and facts of life; plus it has friggin Serena Van Der Woodsen, and Ugly Betty on it.


Kung Fu Panda - Who doesn't want to see a cute animated Panda that knows Kung Fu?


Get Smart - It looks so funny, it has Anne Hathaway kicking ass in high heels and after "The Devil Wears Prada" I like this girl. Plus, it has Steve Carrel.


Wall-E - Uber cute trailer I don't even know what the movie is about but the electronic Wall-E sound got stuck in my head after I saw the first commercial.

Can I die of extreme bored-ness? I think I can... I think being a couch potato is not fun after all, OMG it is so awful, specially those days I wake up cranky because I haven't left the house in days :(, everytime I leave the house I go shopping and that is not that good ---> I usually spend around $75 :S...

All I eat is junk food and lots of it, I don't want to have weight issues again, I think I might have to go to the gym... I don't like it but it is way better than staying at home the entire day with my dad annoying the hell out of me.

Facebook Addiction Update!!!

I'm loving facebook more and more every day, is like a giant gossip world... I love the fact that you can find all the people in the world and you know that "If you're not on facebook you don't exist!!!" I have found, high school friends, college people, even the guy that I had a crush on!!! It is so good to see how different people are after all this time, that I can't help but to spend every minute of my internet time on facebook.

• I have the greatest boyfriend in the whole world, he loves me, he takes care of me, and he gives me lots of kisses!!! He is doing all he can to go do an MBA in Miami, he is studying sooooo hard... I just love him to death!!!

• I went from having one dog, after Bond had to be euthanized, to having four (it feels like 10), two one-month old cocker spaniel puppies (their mom did not want to take care of them anymore), and a four month old cable-eater german shepherd. Life has been crazy since all this little crazy puppies came into my life, they are my greatest joy, they're always happy to see me and they do love me (till I run out of food =P), they're my babies and I'm so scared they'll forget who I am now that I'm going to Miami for almost a month =S... Every-time I have to go to the vet is a mess, my car is a mess, I can't handle them all and it is always raining or about to rain. The puppies whine and the older cocker spaniel gets all excited and starts salivating and barking, the german shepherd puppy does not like to go in the car because he gets all dizzy and vomits.

• I LOVE being back, I love to be able to see my boyfriend everyday, I can go to family reunions, I can see my friends, I can take everything where I left it and make it better.

• I finally got the courage to go and confront a certain person, and you know what??? It was really really awkward, it was a waste of time, and I knew deep inside that it was going to be that way, I didn't even wanted to look at his face... because it just made me angry, the way he just looked like "here I am just to tell you: you're right, I'm wrong... and I hope everything can go back to the way it was." BUT, WHATEVER it is DONE!!!

• Till now not having a job has worked OK because I spent most of my day in traffic =(, today it took me three hours to get home, that makes a total of close to five hours in traffic today alone. You can say my job is to be a driver.

This will totally make your day!!! - DOGGIE!!!!

Joys!

Oh, the joys of being unemployed... I sleep late, get up late... have nothing to do all day and then the circle repeats itself. BUT I get bored and my mind goes off to think about my problems, and that's when it is not fun anymore... I can't stop thinking about all that changed in the last couple months, all the things I lost, all the things I have and all the things that have happened.

Sometimes I wished I had never ever left, that everything was the way it was 5 years ago... but what the hell the things that happened were meant to happen, and they made me realize a lot of stuff I did not know before. It made me realize who was there for me, for real, and who was there just because... but I still need to figure out what the hell bad things happened... and I will at its right time, but for now I'll let my mind wonder.

As far as work I can't have a steady job because DUH! I'm traveling a lot and living in "el monte" but I have to get my website finally running and updated w/ all my stuff... I know I have been late for all the updates but I can't deal with a website and personal issues all the time.

BTW I did two of my life goals during a visit to Disneyland in California:
• Talked to STITCH!!!! through a real time interactive video phone, he even said my name and we talked about CSI Miami, How awesome is that???
• Drove a Segway and got a class on how to drive and turn I even did a 360!!!
Disney Rocks!!!
